FAQs

  • Because each person has different goals for counseling, the approach will vary depending on the individual as well as the therapists’ therapeutic techniques. You can ask your therapist for a more detailed explanation of what you can expect in therapy based on your goals, therapeutic concerns, and the therapist’s approach.

  • Inneractions provides the following services: individual therapy, play therapy, family therapy, parenting, social skills groups, therapeutic role play groups (RPG), process groups, and summer programs.

  • It is hard to predict the number of therapy sessions needed for each client. Many different factors can impact the length of therapy, such as: goals for therapy, severity of concerns, motivation/commitment to therapy, consistency, the therapeutic relationship as well as external factors. It is important to discuss any questions you have regarding your therapeutic process with your therapist.

  • Inneractions is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. Full-payment is due at each session.

We provide a superbill as a service to a Client. A superbill is a document for insurance reimbursement. It is a Client’s responsibility to file with insurance and the Client’s responsibility to understand their current insurance policy and coverage.

  • If using this type of payment, a backup card is required. Most HSA/FSA cards require pre- or additional authorization by the Client or family.

  • Inneractions requires payment on the date of service. As HSA/FSA cards may take some time to receive authorization, or may run out of funds, a backup card is required.

If you have been referred by a therapist at Inneractions to a specific group, and have questions or concerns regarding a group your child will be joining, we encourage you to speak directly with the referring therapist, or the group leader.

  • It is important to us to ensure that our groups are the best possible fit for you or your child. We form the groups based on multiple factors such as age range, schedule availability, diagnoses, and group goals. Due to this, we are not able to determine if we have a group that will be a good fit until we have met for the intake session and consulted with our team. After the intake, the therapist will discuss with you all possible options for group therapy and determine the appropriate next steps.

  • Individual Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long.

  • Inneractions offers a variety of different groups to best serve our community, these groups include: Social Skills Group Therapy, Process Oriented Group Therapy, Support Group Therapy and Therapeutic Role Play Gaming (RPG) Groups.

  • In the recent years, tabletop role-playing games (RPGs) have expanded to include new games, environments, and players. This growth has led to awareness that RPGs and other games are more than just a great way for friends to have fun together; they also have therapeutic benefits that include personal growth and social and educational awareness (Berkenstock & Blakley, 2019). For example, playing RPGs involves imagination, creative problem-solving, risk-taking, empathy, advocating for yourself, communication, perspective-taking, and many other important skills (Berkenstock & Blakley, 2019).

In our therapeutic gaming social skill groups, we help players that struggle with social skills to be in a supportive environment to learn, practice, and witness others engaging in social skills through game-play. In our current groups, we provide the platform for players to make team choices and work through the consequences. We model and coach on in-the-moment social skills to help our players thrive and grow.
