Nia Young, MS

Nia is a psychotherapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kennesaw State University and went on to further her education at Mercer University. Nia graduated from Mercer University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Nia has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem, anger management, ADHD, developmental and learning disorders, social skills, divorce and family transitions, and other behavioral issues. She has facilitated social skills groups for children and adults, as well as therapeutic role-play gaming groups.

Nia’s goal in therapy is to provide a safe space for clients to express themselves freely and work collaboratively with them to build self-confidence, learn and practice new skills, and gain insight about themselves and others while engaging in fun, positive experiences. Nia operates under a person-centered theoretical orientation and utilizes various counseling techniques including CBT, play therapy, a strengths-based approach, and other creative techniques to cater to each client’s specific needs and goals. Nia is passionate about celebrating each client’s individuality and using their unique strengths to create and implement solutions to their problems.
